Well, you’ve come to the right place! As the Head of Growth for the Shopify ecosystem, I’ve had my fair share of opportunities to use SMS and Email marketing tools. I’ve also tested Omnisend (they were almost a competitor which I respected) and similar products as a growth marketer, so I’ve already done the heavy lifting for you!

Sleeknote - head of growth

Instead of wasting time and resources trying out multiple similar tools, keep reading this Omnisend review to learn everything you need to know about Omnisend. In this article, I’ll go through the advantages and disadvantages of Omnisend, its features, cost, and other related software, as well as my recommendations for which tool would be best for your needs.

Omnisend Review: Pricing

Omnisend review

Omnisend offers three pricing plans. The first one is a free package for beginner email marketers and small businesses. It offers 500 emails per month, which you can upgrade to 12,000 with the Standard Plan and unlimited in the Pro Plan.

All users receive free SMS credits, which they can use to send SMS and MMS, regardless of their plan. Furthermore, the Pro Plan allows you to send up to 3,933 SMS every month, compared to 60 for the other two subscriptions. Advanced Reporting, which focuses on customer and marketing analytics, is also part of the package.

Omnisend Review: Best For

Omnisend is a good choice for small and medium-sized businesses and eCommerce marketers that want a better way to automate their marketing efforts while keeping an omnichannel approach in mind. But due to the limited amount of available contacts and SMS each month, the software may be unsuitable for large enterprises with a wide client base.

Omnisend Review: 3 Reasons to Try Omnisend

There are many reasons to give Omnisend a try, from the value for money to excellent customer support and easy automation. But when it comes down to the features, these are my top 3 reasons to try Omnisend:

Premium Automation Capabilities

Omnisend review

Omnisend gives you unprecedented access to the power of automation. With the no-code automation editor, you can choose from pre-built automation workflows or create your own set of customizable automated messages. Using the drag and drop editor, you can change the automation sequence, add and delete new channels, clone messages, incorporate splits, and fully modify your automation in minutes.

Because the entire process is visual, you’ll be able to see exactly what your buyer will view. Omnisend boosts marketing automation by merging numerous channels into a single workflow, including email, SMS, and online push alerts. This enables you to give customers a consistent, tailored experience regardless of which platform they prefer.

Additionally, the optimization features of Omnisend help you to see which automated marketing campaigns are the most effective for your bottom line. The Automation splits feature allows you to customize special offers and incentives for several messaging channels within a single workflow. As a result, you can compare which follow-up message gets the most conversions.

Email Marketing

No coding or tedious editing is required when using Omnisend to create and send beautiful and professional email campaigns. You’ll have access to a collection of professionally designed templates that you can easily customize to reflect your brand using the drag-and-drop editor.

For each new campaign, you can also use the altered template. Furthermore, if you manage many stores, you can share your stored templates to save even more time.

The Product Picker is another significant element of Omnisend’s email marketing. It allows you to add things directly from your business to your emails. It imports your image, prices, titles, and product URLs without requiring you to copy and paste anything manually.

Customer Intelligence

Omnisend makes effective client targeting simple with their smart consumer intelligence tool, taking the guesswork out of your marketing approach. The feature combines data analytics, insights, and segmentation to help you find high-impact opportunities.

You’ll get various analytical yet simple-to-understand reports from Omnisend’s customer intelligence tool, allowing you to dive deep into your consumers’ connection with your brand. Actionable reports on Customer lifecycle stages, Retention Analytics, Funnels, and Product analytics are available with this functionality.

Omnisend will show you which products are most likely to attract new customers and which products are frequently abandoned in shopping carts. This data allows you to customize your automated workflow while considering your customers’ preferences.

Aside from the three key aspects of Omnisend, the software’s health check option is also a useful feature. The health check tool compares your brand’s overall performance to its industry rivals in customer retention, campaigns, workflow, cart abandonment, and sign-up forms, using the most recent 30 days of brand data.

Omnisend does a great job for small businesses and agencies — That’s their main market, so if you are one — go for it! They used to be a small business agency themselves.

Equally Good Option #1- Klaviyo

Klaviyo

Klaviyo is a unified customer platform that offers SMS and email marketing, marketer-friendly segmentation, pre-built template libraries, e-commerce automation, campaign newsletters, and more. Because the Klaviyo database integrates seamlessly with your tech stack, you can obtain the whole narrative on every visitor and then utilize those insights to generate tailored email and SMS messages that help you engage with people, all within one platform.

What makes Klaviyo just as good an option as Omnisend is its additional perks, which include: real-time segmentation, predictive analytics, limitless data storage and retention, and the peer benchmarks function, which allows you to compare your campaigns to those of other businesses in your industry.

Klaviyo integrates with popular eCommerce platforms like Shopify, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, and others very easily. As a result, it can provide access to all of your store’s historical and real-time data. Apart from that, Klaviyo offers over 200 data integrations as well as the option to create custom integrations.

Klaviyo Pricing

Since Klaviyo doesn’t have a fixed subscription package, figuring out the pricing may be a bit confusing. But to put it simply, Klaviyo charges you depending on the service you’re using- only SMS, only Email, or both at once. The services are free for up to 250 contacts, 500 email sends per month, and up to 150 SMS or 50 MMS sends. For anything beyond the free offerings, Klaviyo calculates the price based on your number of contacts.

Equally Good Option #2- Privy

Privy

If you want to do both SMS and email marketing in one place, Privy is a wonderful option. Privy allows you to build pop-up windows, landing pages, embedded forms, and other on-site displays to increase your online conversions.

An extensive selection of ready-to-use templates, advanced audience targeting, campaign scheduling, direct and broadcast texts, newsletters, customer win-back email, and other capabilities of this SMS and Email marketing tool are just a few highlights.

Privy

Privy also provides dedicated learning materials for its users, including blogs, marketing podcasts, masterclasses, and even one-on-one coaching. Privy also includes native integrations with top eCommerce platforms, website builders, leading ESPs, etc.

Privy pricing

Privy offers three plans, including a Starter plan for $15 per month, a Growth Plan for $45 per month, and a Free package. Furthermore, Privy offers a 15-day free trial period to give you a taste of its offer.

The easy-to-use interface, additional Growth and Email marketing options, robust reporting, strong software support (including masterclasses and blog resources), and a store grader that allows you to analyze your shop’s performance make Privy a good alternative to Omnisend.

If you want to learn more about Privy, check out my detailed Privy review, where I share my personal experiences with the tool.

Final Thoughts

Omnisend is a cost-effective email and SMS marketing tool which is perfect for small businesses and agencies. But the cost-effectiveness does not discount Omnisend’s offerings in terms of advanced automation, omnichannel marketing, or customer intelligence.

But if you need a budget-friendly option that offers email marketing alongside SMS and pop-ups, Privy may be best for you. Again, if you prefer the pay-only per-use pricing, one-click integrations, predictive analytics, and other perks of Klaviyo, it can also be a good tool for your SMS and Email marketing automation.
